YELBENI AND SANTORINI YELLOW SERRADELLA
FLAMENCO SULLA |
|
Yellow Serradella is a hard seeded, deep rooted, high water use plant. It is tolerant of acidity, high levels
of soluble aluminium and most pasture damaging insects. They are well suited to a range of soil textures
from sandy loams and gravels through to poor sands provided pH is below 7 as the soil is well drained.
Both varieties developed by the Department of Agriculture and Food WA.
YELBENI – Early maturity (85 days). Quicker germination than Santorini. High forage yield and
production in low rainfall areas.
SANTORIN I– Mid maturity (110 days). Prolonged germination after opening rain (from 14 to 48 days)
enables cheap removal of weeds 10 to 12 days after the break, prior to emergence of
Santorini. High forage yields.
