Yukuri is a reduced awn medium to late season spring type Triticale with good rust resistance. It matures 7 - 10 days later than Tahara and 4 - 7 days earlier than Abacus. It is medium to tall in stature similar to Abacus, but shorter than Jackie. Grain quality is very good with high test-weights and yields equal to
or above Abacus. Yukuri is an ideal variety for hay or silage and is the preferred replacement for Jackie as a medium to late season forage variety.
Its reduced awn head and large clean leaves produce high yielding top quality fodder for conservation. As a grain crop Yukuri prefers a cool finish to the season and is suited to areas receiving 450mm + rainfall.
