A highly productive self regenerating clover variety. SARDI rose clover is the new replacement for Hykon rose clover, the only other rose clover presently available on the market. One feature that sets SARDI Rose apart from Hykon rose is its high hard seed levels at the end of summer. SARDI Rose shows hard seed levels of 65% compared to Hykon’s 20%, this fact coupled with ARDI’s late hard seed breakdown protects this variety against false breaks. SARDI rose is an early-mid maturing variety of clover flowering approximately 105 days after emergence. SARDI’s early maturity coupled with its high hard seed count make this rose clover variety ideal for low-mid rainfall areas of Australia (350-500 mm), pastures of rose clover have been maintained successfully in rainfall areas as low as 250mm. Results from trials of SARDI rose show that it produces between 4-6 t of dry matter per hectare.
