Double Cut was formed following numerous rounds of recurrent selection and inter-specific cross-pollination.
Selections undertaken concentrated principally on those criteria associated with a silage and hay ‘end use’.
Additional breeding effort was also allocated for inclusion of criteria necessary to allow for improvement in
grazing characteristics normally associated with red clover. Double Cut Red Clover is a cultivar containing
plants of dense structure. It is capable of withstanding pressure associated with grazing and will produce
strong growth over the winter months.
